Enjoy this three-night weekend break at the Holiday Inn Rochester - Chatham, located just a short distance from the picturesque town of Rochester. With a history dating back centuries, Rochester offers much to explore. Visit the stunning Rochester Cathedral, founded in 604, the second oldest in England, or take in the views from the top of one of the tallest keeps in the country at Rochester Castle. The town is also widely known for its connections to Charles Dickens, who lived here as a child and returned later in life as a successful author. Many of the town’s buildings feature in his works, such as Restoration House and the Guildhall Museum in Great Expectations, and The Six Poor Travellers House. You can also visit Eastgate House, where Dickens' chalet is displayed in the gardens of this Grade I-listed building.

Just a short distance from Rochester, explore Upnor Castle (English Heritage), a beautiful Elizabethan artillery fortress dating back to the 16th century, originally built to protect warships at Chatham Dockyards. Located nearby is the Chatham Historic Dockyard, where you can tour historic ships and enjoy immersive exhibition galleries. Also close by is Leeds Castle, a stunning historic site set on two islands in the middle of a lake. With over 900 years of history, this magnificent castle has served as a Norman stronghold, royal residence, and even a palace for Henry VIII. Visitors can explore its beautifully preserved interiors, lush gardens, a maze, and a bird of prey center. The cathedral city of Canterbury is about a 40-minute drive from the hotel. This UNESCO World Heritage site is rich in history and culture. Visit the iconic Canterbury Cathedral, stroll through the charming medieval streets, or take a riverboat tour along the River Stour.

For motorsport and karting enthusiasts, Brands Hatch is just a 30-minute drive from the hotel. This world-famous circuit hosts a variety of championships on both two and four wheels. Buckmore Park, only a 7-minute drive from the hotel, offers one of the country’s largest hire-kart fleets and caters to all ages and levels of expertise. It’s the very track where Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button honed their skills!

For nature lovers, Riverside Country Park is only a 20-minute drive from the hotel. Enjoy walking trails and cycle paths through scenic landscapes along the River Medway.

On Saturday, after breakfast, you'll embark on a coach excursion to the iconic Dover Castle. As one of England's largest and most impressive fortresses, Dover Castle has stood watch over the White Cliffs for more than 800 years. Explore the medieval Great Tower, delve into the Secret Wartime Tunnels where pivotal WWII moments unfolded, and admire breath-taking views over the English Channel - all included in the cost of the break.

Also included in your stay are three nights' dinner, bed and breakfast, along with a welcome drink on the first evening.
