LV= Britannia Rescue breakdown cover

You’re in safe hands with LV= Britannia Rescue’s breakdown experts – their mobile mechanics can fix and recover petrol, diesel, electric and hybrid vehicles. You can count on them 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with unlimited call outs (as long as it’s not a reoccurring problem).

LV= Britannia Rescue fix 4 out of 5 cars at the roadside*. If this isn’t possible, you, your passengers and your vehicle will be towed to the nearest garage, or anywhere within a 10-mile radius of your breakdown location.

Cover for your nominated vehicle  

Your vehicle is covered by Roadside Assist, so any driver can use it, providing that they have the appropriate insurance to drive it and the owner’s permission to use the vehicle.

How do I get free Roadside Assist by Britannia Rescue?

Roadside Assist by Britannia Rescue is included free with Boundless Plus. Discover membership options.

If you currently work or have previously worked for – or have retired from – the public sector or civil service, you can join Boundless. This includes civil service departments as well as public sector employers like the NHS, armed forces, emergency services, education, government agencies and local authorities. Will my partner be covered?

Roadside Assist by Britannia Rescue covers anyone driving your nominated vehicle, providing that they have the appropriate insurance to drive and the owner’s permission to use the vehicle. To be covered in any other vehicle, you’ll need a separate breakdown cover policy.

Are all types of vehicles covered?

Certain size and weight limits apply, but generally LV= Britannia Rescue cover any motorised vehicle requiring motor insurance to be driven on public roads. Your nominated vehicle must be in a roadworthy condition, with valid road tax, a current MOT and serviced and maintained in line with manufacturer guidelines. What’s not covered?     

LV= Britannia Rescue do not cover the following:

  • A fault that does not stop you from driving such as a faulty headlight or washer jet
  • Any specialist equipment if you need to be recovered from mud, snow or floods
  • A car that's not roadworthy or is without valid road tax or an MOT
  • Any vehicle that's being used as a taxi for private or public hire or for delivery or courier service
  • Cover if breakdown at home or within a 1/4 mile of your home
  • Recovery to a destination which is more than 10 miles from where you break down.

Free Roadside Assist by LV= Britannia Rescue is only available to Boundless Plus members. To benefit from free roadside assistance and local breakdown recovery, a Boundless Plus member must complete an activation form to confirm their nominated vehicle. Cover will take effect 24 hours after activation and will remain in place for as long as the member has Boundless Plus. If you cancel Boundless Plus at any time, your Roadside Assist cover will be terminated.
