Jodrell Bank is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been a beacon of scientific discovery since 1957. Located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, it’s home to the Lovell Telescope, the UK’s largest steerable radio telescope and a Grade I listed engineering marvel.
The site is also an award-winning public visitor attraction, offering a wealth of experiences for all ages. Its four visitor pavilions feature exhibitions and interactive displays that bring the wonders of the universe to life – visit the new First Light Pavilion to travel to the very edge of the solar system with its state-of-the-art 3D immersive planetarium.

2 x Space Dome Shows - 3D Immersive Planetarium Show:
- We Are Stars: This animated show takes you on an exciting journey back to the big bang and creation of atoms to ask questions like ‘How did the universe begin?’ and ‘What are we made of?’ Suitable for all ages.
- Curious Kids: The Explosive Science Show A 45-minute science show for kids that will blow their minds! Take a journey through the solar system, exploring forces found on Earth and beyond with live experiments which will knock your socks off. And there’s a chance to test your knowledge of all things cosmic with a trivia quiz for kids and adults.
Dark Sky Stargazing Sessions from 4.30pm
Join us from 4.30pm at the Space Pavilion for a magical evening of dark sky observing. You’ll be shown how to use telescopes, binoculars and planispheres and – weather permitting – you’ll get the chance to put all you’ve learnt into practice outside to observe the night sky. Along with Jodrell Bank’s own team, Macclesfield Astronomical Society will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Pink Floyd – 50th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon
Half a century on from Pink Floyd recording their classic album, get ready to be amazed as the magic of the album comes alive in a planetarium spectacular taking you on a journey through time and space. This one-of-a-kind event combines cutting-edge technology with the band’s unique music to immerse you in a 3D world that will transport you beyond your imagination.
Upgrade your ticket to include The Pink Floyd Experience which will have a limited capacity of 200 people. This show is only available to people over the age of 13+ and accompanied by an adult. All tickets must be purchased in advance through the Boundless event ticketing page. The Pink Floyd ticket includes entry to the show and other attractions available to the standard entry tickets.
There are two shows at 7.15pm (Sold Out) and 8.15pm (Sold Out) holding 100 people per show. Please note that this is bookable on a first come first serve basis only. Once full, tickets will not be available for that time slot. We have a capacity of 200 people only for the Pink Floyd show.
At the end of the day, we will be holding our free prize draw – it’s a great opportunity to win some Jodrell Bank goodies to take home with you.
Tickets
Boundless members can book a maximum of four tickets per membership number.
- Member tickets. Adults (age 18+): £10 per ticket – that’s a saving of £32.25 per ticket
- Child tickets (4-18): £5 – that’s a saving £30.25 per ticket
- Pink Floyd tickets (age 13+): £20 (saving of £40.25 per ticket)
*Saving of £129 compares four Boundless adult tickets to the on-the-door price of four adults of £169 (saving includes on-site Boundless benefits).
Boundless tickets are only available in advance and cannot be bought on the day. Tickets are subject to availability and cannot be sold or transferred. The booking member must be present on the day and show their Boundless membership card and identification to obtain admission. Guests must be accompanied by the booking member.
The Boundless team attend all our events to make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible. We’ll also have our official Boundless photographer on site to capture the best moments for you, your family and friends. All photos will be available for you to download after the event. If you upload any of your own pictures to social media be sure to use the hashtag #bemoreboundless for a chance to be featured on our social pages. By buying tickets, you’re agreeing to have your photo taken and any images used on our marketing platforms. If you’d prefer not to have your photo taken or appear on our website or social pages, please let us know when you arrive and we’ll make sure arrangements are made.

How do I get there?
Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre can be found just off the A535 between Chelford and Holmes Chapel. If travelling on the M6, leave the motorway at Junction 18 and follow the tourist signs to the entrance, approximately six miles from the junction.

Where do I park?
There is plenty of free parking on site for up to 300 cars. Parking is free for all visitors. Please try and travel together where possible to enable all members free car park access on the day.
What should I do when I arrive?
When you arrive, come and see the Boundless team by the entrance, where we’ll give you everything you need for the day, including your admission lanyard, hot drink voucher and entry into the prize draw.
Are there any age restrictions?
All guests will need an admission ticket. Children aged 4 and under are free and don’t need a ticket.
I have a friend or family member who wants to come as well
Great, bring them along! The only provision is that the booking must be made by a Boundless member and that everyone who attends has a valid admission ticket. The Boundless member will have to show their membership card and identification on the day and any guests will have to accompany them on arrival. Due to ticket capacity members are entitled to bring a maximum of three guests (including children).
Only tickets purchased through Boundless will entitle you to members’ day benefits. Boundless tickets must be reserved in advanced and will not be available on the day.

What’s the best way to plan my day?
There is a wonderful café serving hot food and drinks If you wish to eat at the venue. If you would like to bring your own food there are various areas to enjoy a picnic and there is a heated lodge with a fire.
Do bring all-weather clothing as stargazing sessions take place in the open air.
Can tickets be transferred?
Once you’ve purchased your event tickets, they can’t be transferred as a current member with valid membership card needs to be present. This is because we have a very limited number of tickets and must ensure the offer benefits Boundless members.
How accessible is the venue?
Jodrell Bank is a fully accessible site with all visitor facilities at ground level. They currently have three public buildings and each building is linked by level paths. Jodrell’s welcome team are on hand to help you when you arrive and to guide you around the site during your day.
