About the event

9am to 5pm, Monday 8 July 2024

Boundless Karting would like to welcome you to 2 Rounds of the 2024 London Karting Championship at Red Lodge.

The Event is open to all Boundless Members and their families and guests. Please be aware that if you intend to collect championship points then you must be a fully paid-up member of Boundless by CSMA. We cater for all members with all levels of experience so whether you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran you will find a challenge out there on the track. Please come and enjoy the morning and afternoon racing, meet new friends, and have a good time. The Red Lodge Karting circuit is based off the Red Lodge Bypass near Bury Saint Edmunds IP28 8LE.

The circuit has two different layouts which is the 700 meter and the full 1200-meter track. We will however be using the full 1200-meter track.

Event Summary

Drivers: Minimum 10 : Maximum 22

Minimum age 16. Drivers aged below 18 need their parents or guardians to sign the indemnity form at the circuit and be always present during the event. Please be aware that there is a refreshment facility at this venue and I will try and ensure that it is open on that Monday. I will inform you of this nearer the date of the event in the joining instructions.

Event Reception

Drivers need to arrive by 09.00 am and on arrival all Drivers and guests should report to the Event Organiser.

Drivers will then be directed to 'Signing On' where they will 'be kitted out (free of charge) with racing overalls, a helmet, and gloves (you may bring your own if you wish but they must be approved by the Circuit). A hair net is handed out to anyone using the circuits helmets; however, you may purchase a brand-new balaclava at the circuit if you prefer. Alternatively, you may bring your own balaclava if you have one. Please wear comfortable and suitable clothing for the weather. Don’t wear anything that would upset you if it became damaged or mucky, simple jeans and a t-shirt would be fine. If you do not have proper racing shoes, then trainers are the next best thing and remember you will not be allowed to race in any footwear with open toes or heels.

Following reception and kitting out it’s off for a full Safety Briefing which all drivers must attend. After the safety briefing Drivers may be split into two groups depending on the number of drivers and sent out for a 5-minute Practice/Qualifying session each. After the qualifying sessions of 4 laps each group will have 2 x 13 lap heats which will determine their starting position in the final race. Each group will then have a 15-lap final giving each driver a total circuit time of approximately 45 minutes driving in the morning session. The afternoon will then follow a similar pattern.

Trophies will be provided for the top three drivers in each of the 2 Championship rounds Championship points will be awarded for individual positions on both Rounds if you are a full member of Boundless by CSMA. Please enjoy your days karting at the Red Lodge circuit but please remember that all drivers must be free of alcohol, illegal substances or prescription medication.
