About the event

9am to 5pm, Tuesday 25 March 2025

The Karting Group would like to welcome you to 2 Rounds of the 2025 London Karting Championship at Whilton Mill in March.

The Event is open to all Boundless Members, their families and guests. Please be aware that if you intend to collect championship points then you must be a fully paid-up member of Boundless by CSMA.  We cater for all members with all levels of experience so whether you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran you will find a challenge out there on the track.  Please come and enjoy the morning and afternoon racing, meet new friends and have a good time.

The Whilton Mill Karting and Outdoor Activities Centre is based at Whilton Locks just off the A5 near Daventry in Northampton. The circuit has two slightly different loops on the same track. There is the 1200 metre International track and the 960 metre National track which is floodlit and used in darker evenings. We will however be using the full International track as both Grand Prix will be run during daylight hours.

Event Summary

Drivers: Minimum 15: Maximum 22

Minimum age 16: Drivers aged below 18 need their parents or Guardians to sign the indemnity form at the circuit and be always present during the event.

As this event will be run on a Tuesday there will be a refreshment facility at this venue and hot and cold food will be available during the lunch period.

Event Reception

Drivers need to arrive by 09.00 am and on arrival all Drivers and guests should report to the Event Organiser.

Drivers will then be directed to 'Signing On' where they will 'be kitted out (free of charge) with racing overalls, a helmet and gloves (you may bring your own if you wish but they must be approved by the Circuit). A brand-new complementary balaclava will be handed out to all drivers using the circuits helmets and this is for them to keep and not hand back.

Please wear comfortable and suitable clothing for the weather. Don’t wear anything that would upset you if it became damaged or mucky, simple jeans and a T-shirt would be fine. If you do not have proper racing shoes, then trainers are the next best thing and remember you will not be allowed to race in any footwear with open toes or heels.

Following reception and kitting out it’s off for a full Safety Briefing which all drivers must attend.

After the safety briefing Drivers may be split into two groups depending on the number of drivers and sent out for a 5-minute Practice/Qualifying session each. After the qualifying sessions each group will have 3 x 10-minute eats which will determine their starting position in the final race. Each group will then have a 10-minute final giving each driver a total circuit time of approximately 45 minutes driving in the morning session. The afternoon will then follow a similar pattern.

Trophies will be provided for the top three drivers in each of the 2 Championship rounds

Championship points will be awarded for individual positions on both Rounds.

Please enjoy your days karting at the Whilton Mill circuit but please remember that all drivers must be free of alcohol, illegal substances or prescription medication.
