After 19 years in general practice, Dr Amanda Brown had become dissatisfied with her job as a GP, but she was unprepared for how her life was about to change. In this member-exclusive online event, Amanda tells us how quitting her career in 2004 led to the chance offer of a job in the prison service, an offer which led to what she calls her ‘wonderful new life’. She reveals what life is really like as a medic behind bars and gives us the inside story on her years at various prisons, including the notorious Wormwood Scrubs.
