Step aboard Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s SS Great Britain – the world’s first great ocean liner and a true marvel of engineering.
Revolutionary in design, with an iron hull, steam engine, and screw propeller, this iconic ship paved the way for modern cruise liners. During her remarkable career, she crossed the Atlantic to New York, circled the globe 32 times, transported people and plants between Britain and Australia, carried troops home from the Crimean War, and delivered cargo between South Wales and San Francisco. Her final 8,000-mile journey from the South Atlantic back to Bristol is often hailed as her greatest triumph.
Today, you can step back in time and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and even smells of life aboard this nineteenth-century passenger ship.
But the experience doesn’t stop there! Explore the historic dockyard where the SS Great Britain proudly rests in the original Victorian dry dock from which she was launched in 1843. Venture beneath the glass sea to see her magnificent hull up close and uncover the ship’s fascinating history and the stories of her passengers and crew in the Dockyard Museum.

Ticket Information
The time on your ticket indicates your arrival slot only. Once inside, you’re welcome to stay until the venue closes at 5 PM.
Boundless members can book up to two adult tickets and three child tickets per membership
- Adults (aged 18 and over): £10 per ticket – saving you £10 per ticket!
- Children (aged 4 to 17): £5 per ticket – saving you £12 per ticket!
- Infants (aged 3 and under): free
Our ticket prices are low because we use our non-profit status to subsidise them, ensuring our members can enjoy great days out. To help more members and their families benefit from our Member Days, we’ve updated our ticket allocation to a maximum of two adults and three children. Additional adults must either pay the full admission price or, if eligible, become Boundless members to take advantage of the offer.
However, if you want more tickets to bring your family and friends? If they’re eligible, simply refer them to Boundless to become a member. Plus, you’ll earn a £10 Love2shop voucher when they join.** Or, you can purchase additional tickets directly with the venue at full price.
Tickets are limited and selling fast, so be sure to book yours early. This event is an exclusive benefit for Boundless members, and the tickets are only available in advance – they cannot be bought on the day. The booking member must be present on the day along with any guests, and show their Boundless membership card and identification to gain admission to the reserve.

How do I get there?

Please note that Bristol’s Clean Air Zone is in effect. Some vehicles (less than 29% of cars) have to pay to come into Bristol. Check whether your vehicle will be charged. An alternative option to consider is the Long Ashton Park and Ride service which operates from Monday to Saturday.
Please be aware that a bus gate is in effect on Cumberland Road. Be alert for bus gate signage as you leave SS Great Britain.
Where do I park?
Parking is available at the Maritime Heritage Centre car park next to the venue. Our visitors pay a discounted rate of just £5.20 to stay up to five hours. Just park in any space and head to the Boundless ticket area to make payment.
What should I do when I arrive?
When you arrive, come and see the Boundless team by the entrance, where we’ll give you everything you need for the day, your guide book and entry for the prize draw.
Are there any age restrictions?
All guests will need an admission ticket. Children aged 3 and under are free and do not require a ticket.
I have a friend or family member who wants to come as well
Great, bring them along! The only provision is that the booking must be made by a Boundless member and that everyone who attends has a valid admission ticket. The Boundless member will have to show their membership card and identification on the day and any guests will have to accompany them on arrival.
Only tickets purchased through Boundless will entitle you to member day benefits. Boundless tickets must be reserved in advance and will not be available on the day.
What time does this event start and end?
The events runs from 10am to 5pm.
How do I get my tickets?
Your tickets will be sent to the email address you have registered with Boundless within 24 hours of purchase. We’re unable to send tickets to any other address. Don’t forget to check your spam or junk folder, just in case they end up there!
Can tickets be transferred?
Once you’ve bought your event tickets they cannot be transferred, as a current member with valid membership card needs to be present. This is because we have a very limited number of tickets and must ensure the offer benefits Boundless members.
How accessible is the venue?

Are dogs allowed on site?
All guide and assistance dogs are welcome, but pets are not permitted.
Will there be photos or videos taken at the event?
Yes! We love capturing the fun of our events to share with other members and encourage non members to join us. You might spot our team snapping photos or filming highlights for Boundless promotions. If you’d rather not be included, just let us know when you check in—we completely understand and we will make sure you stay out of the frame.
The Boundless team attends all our events to make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible. We may also have our official Boundless photographer on site to capture the best moments for you, your family and friends. All photos will be available for you to download after the event. If you upload any of your own pictures to social media be sure to use the hashtag #bemoreboundless for a chance to be featured on our social pages.
